Case Study: GoPago LIVE the Perfect POS Solution for Kentucky’s Piper’s Cafe

Everyone at the San Francisco GoPago headquarters is familiar with Piper’s Cafe and the owner, Chip Adkins. He was one of the first to sign up for GoPago LIVE and has provided our customer support, marketing and engineering teams with great feedback, praise and suggestions. His contributions have been invaluable. As a startup looking to provide the best POS system for all brick and mortar merchants, there’s nothing more important to us than engaged customers who partner with us to improve our product and service.  We welcome and encourage that level of feedback from all our GoPago Live users: enterprise corporate cafeterias, food trucks and small mom and pop shops. Here is an in-depth look as to why Piper’s Cafe in Kentucky chose GoPago LIVE as their solution to transact and interact with their customers. Piper’s Cafe in Covington, Kentucky, took five years of planning and dreaming before Chip Adkins and Charles Killian were able to make it a reality. They wanted the whole cafe and the whole customer experience to be different, new and totally in line with the future. From their homemade ketchup to their locally sourced ingredients everything had to be well thought out and have their seal of approval. The point of sale system was a vital component in their plan. A simple cash register would never cut it. Dumb, old fashioned technology would hold back the promise of their vision. Originally leaning towards Square, because of fixed rates and sleekness of a tablet POS; they wanted more in a POS solution. They wanted the ability to broadcast their business to their customers smartphones and...

Melty March Madness with Blue Fog Market

Blue Fog Market on Polk St. recently started serving up some cheese melts until 3 in the morning and we’re teaming up with them and their Gough St. location to bring you the Melty March Madness bracket tournament.  We’ve set up a bracket to help you concoct your dream grilled cheese combination. For starters, you’re given aged cheddar and havarti cheese on grilled rustic white bread for $4.99 and then you could spiff it up with a plethora of different meat, veggie, spread options for a small additional price. With options ranging from flank steak to jalapeño to onion mayonaise to mango, your wildest dreams might become a reality. From now until March Madness is over (April 8th), we’ll be asking you to cast your votes on our Facebook and Twitter pages for your preferred toppings until we have a winner from each bracket (2 different veggies, 1 meat, 1 spread).  Another way to vote is to just simply order a cheese melt for yourself through GoPago and whatever toppings you choose will also be counted as votes. To sweeten things up, there are deals in it for you too.  Whenever a topping beats out its opponent, that winning topping will be discounted by 50% until we reach the final round of voting, which will determine the ultimate cheese melt.  Then the winning ultimate cheese melt combination will be featured exclusively on GoPago for only $5 +tax (you’re getting some tasty toppings for free) until the end of April. Instead of having zero control over your favorite college basketball team’s outcome in March Madness, you’ve got the power in our Melty...

49ers are on a Roll, Eat It!

In honor of the Super Bowl, we are celebrating the winning streak of our beloved 49ers with a collection of 49ers Rolls. We don’t know when or where the first 49ers Roll was served (Quora couldn’t help), but we do know that we like everything with the Niners namesake. Each 49ers roll is slightly different but is brought together through a bundle of seaweed and rice and above all, salmon.  Whether it is accompanied by crab, lemon, or mint, our chopsticks are eager to pounce. With 25 merchants on the GoPago network serving up these rolls of team pride yearlong, we are highlighting  five rolls that will be offered to you at a discounted price until Super Bowl Sunday, allowing you to save time, money and try as many rolls as possible. Here is the team line-up: u-sushi, Tokyo Express (Sacramento, Mission and Stonestown locations), We Be Sushi (at 16th St.), Naked Fish and Sushi Rocks (Pine and Polk locations)  ...

Save Time and Stay Healthy in 2013

It’s a new year, your resolutions are still in effect and impending flu epidemics are looking to invade your body; we recommend you turn to healthy food and your handy dandy GoPago app. In San Francisco, the weather is demanding warm food, and the chicken n’ corn chili at Chili Up keeps you chill (in temperament, not temperature) and clocks in at under 300 calories. GoPago-ing from the Embarcadero location ensures that your chili will be hot, and you’ll be in and out fast, to enjoy more moments of the new year. The iron bowl at Baladie Gourmet Cafe puts up an iron wall defense against any possible flus, viruses or unhealthy food. The bowl fills you up with hearty lentils, rice, spinach, caramelized onions and chicken. For an even healthier option, choose the vegan variety with either falafel or eggplant instead of chicken. Any successful loser will tell you that they key to keeping off excess weight is to make room for some splurges. Eating healthy requires the occasional small reward. Prima Cafe knows this and they are offering a free 8 oz cup of frozen yogurt for the entire month of January with the purchase of any sandwich or salad ordered from GoPago. Try the arugula salad with wine poached pears. For the lowdown on Prima Cafe’s frozen yogurt, check out what one of our most prolific user has to say on her blog. Julie, of Julie’s Dining Club, claims it’s the best fro-yo in the entire city with flavors ranging from sea salt caramel pretzel to raspberry tart. Happy new year, GoPago-ers, may it be delicious, nutritious and include no wasting (or...

Oakbrook Florists

Last week I asked all of our Facebook and Twitter fans to take advantage of the 50% off offer at Oakbrook Florists. By ‘take advantage’ I meant: buy me flowers. The whole day I sat around the office secretly waiting for someone to walk in with flowers so I could make all my coworkers jealous. It didn’t work — there were no flowers. Since then, I’ve been contemplating ordering some flowers for myself … In the mirror, I’ve practiced the surprised face I would make when I first saw the flowers, as well as my answers when coworkers ask questions. Who are these from? Well, I don’t know. They have no note, maybe a secret admirer. What’s the occasion? Hmm, I think someone just really loves me. What? YOU got flowers? Who do you think you are? Ummm (I don’t really have an answer for the one. I should keep practicing). Anyway, I could go on, but I will spare you. Since I don’t really want to get flowers for myself, I am putting out another call For flowers! It’s Wednesday and for the rest of the week, Oakbrook Florist is offering 50% off for an order of Designer’s Choice or Dozen Roses. I’ll take...
