GoPago LIVE is NOT an iPad POS. GoPago’s POS software is run on the Android operating system, not iOS, which differentiates us from virtually every other tablet-based POS in the market. We made this decision very deliberately; the Android platform enables GoPago to deliver the most secure multi-tasking solution possible. Since the point of sale is the central nervous system of a business, it needs to provide the most reliable merchant experience possible. A point-of-sale, like a central nervous system, benefits from continuous monitoring of health to guarantee a strong solution. An Android tablet enables system level access, allowing GoPago to remotely monitor uptime, automatically upgrade software, proactively troubleshoot and limit POS-only functionality. This hands-on approach is, for now, exclusive to GoPago LIVE and only possible on an Android point-of-sales system. iPad POS systems cannot directly and in real time, monitor the health of the POS or serve merchants to the same extent as GoPago LIVE, since the POS software is one of many apps on the iPad tablet. Our Top 7 Reasons to Choose an Android POS System 1. Proactive and Remote Monitoring: GoPago monitors all of its POS units constantly, ensuring continuous merchant uptime and proactive customer support. Through our Control Center, we monitor everything from POS tablet battery life, components plugged-in, CPU and memory. Our world-class customer support team calls merchants if the tablet’s battery is low, if they have a pending mobile order, or if the printer has a bad connection. Notifying our customers before they are aware of a problem sets GoPago LIVE apart: no one else has the ability to see this information...

Innovations in the payment industry are so widespread right now that Leo Rocco, our CEO and Founder, compares it to the credit card revolution a half century ago. It’s exciting to be in the company with others like LevelUp, Leaf, PayPal and ShopKeep; together, with GoPago LIVE, we are revolutionizing how business and customers interact and transact. Remember when we mentioned GoPago LIVE was nominated for the Best POS Transformation award at the 2013 PYMNTS.com Innovator Awards? Well, we took home the Bronze during the awards ceremony! PYMNTS.com is a real thought leader in this category who documents the revolution, facilitates discussions and just last week they brought together the biggest industry leaders for the Innovation Project 2013 and the Innovator Awards. Two of our innovators, Leo Rocco and David Herzog, VP of Partnerships and Alliances, attended the two day conference at Harvard University. While at the conference they had lunch with Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States. If you aren’t familiar with her, check your dollar bills. Another key (pun always intended) person in attendance was James Goodfellow, the man who invented the PIN in 1968. Some of the key learnings from the conference that we will take with us came from a panel with Don Kingsborough, VP of Retail and Prepaid Services for PayPal and Steve Levitt, author of Freakonomics. Kingsborough shared that open platforms win and ubiquity requires multi-pronged approaches, partnerships and collaboration. We feel fortunate to have such strong partnerships with JPMorgan Chase and Verizon Wireless as we work to make GoPago LIVE the leading cloud-based POS solution. The always thought-provoking economist, Steve Levitt, stated that people don’t change behavior unless you...

In honor of the Super Bowl, we are celebrating the winning streak of our beloved 49ers with a collection of 49ers Rolls. We don’t know when or where the first 49ers Roll was served (Quora couldn’t help), but we do know that we like everything with the Niners namesake. Each 49ers roll is slightly different but is brought together through a bundle of seaweed and rice and above all, salmon. Whether it is accompanied by crab, lemon, or mint, our chopsticks are eager to pounce. With 25 merchants on the GoPago network serving up these rolls of team pride yearlong, we are highlighting five rolls that will be offered to you at a discounted price until Super Bowl Sunday, allowing you to save time, money and try as many rolls as possible. Here is the team line-up: u-sushi, Tokyo Express (Sacramento, Mission and Stonestown locations), We Be Sushi (at 16th St.), Naked Fish and Sushi Rocks (Pine and Polk locations) ...

Thursday night, we attended the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce‘s Excellence in Business Awards (the Ebbies), where we were presented with the Comcast Innovation through Technology Award. The award recognizes technology-led business that solves a problem to increase efficiency and we were honored to be up against such reputable companies as Pinterest and Desk.com. All of the 1,200 attendees were brought together on this special night by our commitment and enthusiasm for San Francisco, local business, innovation and in rooting for the San Francisco Giants who were simultaneously playing in Game 2 of the World Series. Trust us, there were many score updates in the speeches and smartphone checking. When our CEO and Founder, Leo Rocco, went up to receive the award he reflected on the growth of our own team and our company’s very own special ties to the Giants. We’re sure you remember when we partnered with Tim Lincecum in July, but did you know that our roots with the Giants go even further back? The “Aha Moment” and impetus for GoPago began when Leo was at a very special Giants game in 2007, when Barry Bonds beat Hank Aaron’s home run record. Leo missed this historical event because he was waiting in line for food and drinks. He wondered...
